Local charity Friends of Mount St. John’s Medical Center (MSJMC) is asking all patrons who purchased tickets for the “Rock Da Boat” event scheduled for May 8th aboard the Freewinds to hold on to their tickets.
“We wish to advise that the cruise liner ‘The Freewinds’ has cancelled its arrival in Antigua through its shipping agent due to a case of measles on board. This has impacted our planned event “Rock Da Boat” which was scheduled for Wednesday 8th May onboard The Freewinds,” Friends of MSJMC advised Friday in a press release.
That development has caused the organization to postpone the planned fundraiser until an alternative venue can be identified.
“We are currently in the process of organising an alternative venue to host the same band on a different date. We will make a public announcement once all details have been finalised.
“We crave your patience and ask that you keep your tickets safe as they will be valid for the new event,” the Friends of MSJMC said. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused, but these circumstances were completely out of our control.”
The Friends of MSJMC also thanked its patrons for their continued support.
