Clarence Francis struck 107 while Hezekiah Weston made 96 to help propel Old Road to an 82 runs victory over PMS in the Caribbean Alliance Insurance-sponsored 30 overs softball cricket competition being hosted by the Antigua and Barbuda Softball Cricket Association (ABCA).

The efforts of Francis and Weston with the bat, helped carry Old Road to 233 for two in 22 overs before Francis returned with the ball to claim four wickets for 63 runs in six overs, and helped to restrict PMS to 151 for seven in 22 overs.

Denzil Roach and Denfield Road were the top performers with the bat for PMS, making 34 and 32 runs respectively.

Also on Sunday, Molvin James hit a top score of 91 to help guide 300 to a 58 runs triumph over Bullets.

James’ knock helped to push 300 to 165 for five from their 30 overs. Kennedy Tonge then claimed four wickets for 34 runs in five overs while Denfield Weatherhead picked up three for 39 in 5.4 overs as 300 bowled out Bullets for just 107 in 18.4 overs.

Meanwhile, Buckley’s 3J’s won by default over Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force (ABDF) Warriors and Dredgers won by default over Sisserou.

In the St John’s Co-Operative Credit Union 15 overs Women’s competition, Potters Uprising defeated Jennings Rockets by four wickets also on Sunday.

Winning the toss and opting to bat, Rockets posted 77 for six in their 15 overs with Denese Parker hitting 19 not out and Kushana David making 18. There was one wicket each for Debra George and Sharon Mayers bowling for the opponents.

Potters Uprising then overhauled their target at 78 for six in their 15 overs. Joanne Thomas hit a top score of 19 while Nolia Hodge made 18. There were two wickets each for Valarie Isaac and David bowling for the victors.

Meanwhile, Enforcers won by default over Clippers while Flyers also won by default after their intended opponents, Bullets, could not field a team.
