The Cool and Smooth Joma Ministry of Sports Patrick C Whyte Cup Male Under 20 Football competition will now enter the second half of the season with five crucial matches scheduled, while the scoring charts across all age groups showcase emerging young talent in Antiguan football.
The top four teams are tied on 12 points with goal difference being the deciding factor that separates them.
Leading the standing is the Princess Margaret School (PMS) with a goal difference of 13, Antigua State College are second with a goal difference of 10, All Saints Secondary School are third with eight goals while AGS are fourth with a difference of five goals.
Week Six kicks off today, November 13th, with a double-header.
Irene B Williams School faces All Saints Secondary School (ASSS) at Buckleys, while Ottos Comprehensive School (OCS) takes on Jennings Secondary School (JSS) at Golden Grove, both matches starting at 2:30 pm.
The action continues on Friday, November 15th, with three matches: ABICE will be away to St Anthony Secondary School (SASS) at St Anthony’s, PMS hosting Clare Hall Secondary School, and Antigua State College (ASC) challenging Antigua Grammar School (AGS) at the AGS grounds.
In the goal scoring department, PMS has emerged as a goalscoring powerhouse in the Male U-20 category, with Greg Williams leading all scorers with seven goals, followed by his teammate Howayne James with five.
Sedique Adams (AGS) and Jevaughn Jarvis (ASSS) are tied with four goals each.
The Boys’ U-16 division sees Joshua James of SJA matching Williams’ tally with seven goals, while OCS boasts two prolific scorers – Tafari Looby (five goals) and Demarre Swift (four goals).
They’re joined by Roshan Samuel (PMS) and Jaden Joseph (ASSS) with four goals each.
Perhaps the most impressive scoring display comes in the Boys’ U-14 category, where CHSS’ Tevon Henderson leads all youth divisions with an impressive 11 goals. He’s closely followed by PMS’ Alan Henry with 10 goals, while SASS’ top scorers are Chance De Gannes (six goals) and Elijah Cenac (five goals).
Last season, PMS were the titleholders of the Under 14 and Under 16 Divisions, while Antigua State College was the Champion in the Under 20 Division.
