Four killed in highway motor vehicle crash

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Jan 5, CMC –Investigations are being conducted into a motor vehicle accident that led to the death of four persons.
The crash took place late Wednesday on the Linden Soesdyke Highway .
The police report that the cars were traveling along the highway in opposite directions, when there was a head on collision.
Three persons died on the spot – they have been identified as Dextroy Griffith, David Primus and Raul Aaron .
The fourth victim who died while undergoing surgery early Thursday, has been identified as Lauron Mendonca .
Two other persons including the wife of one of the dead men, are still in the hospital with multiple injuries.
With heavy rainfall pounding the highway almost daily for the past two weeks, drivers have been urged to cut back on the speed and exercise more caution along the highway.
