Four individuals appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Monday, facing an array of charges related to illegal firearms, ammunition, and drugs.
The appearances relate to a series of police raids conducted last Friday.
Jowato Gino Athill, 41, of Clark’s Hill and Adiva Collins, 33, of Clare Hall stood before the court, jointly charged with unlawful possession of ammunition. The charges include eleven .32mm rounds, five 9mm rounds, and one hundred and two .22mm rounds.
Represented by attorney Andrew O’kola, both defendants entered not guilty pleas.
Magistrate Emanuel remanded them to His Majesty’s Prison, setting a two-day trial for December 10 and 11, 2024.
In another case, Jeson Cedeno, 28, and Kamiyah Daniel, 24, faced charges for possession of an unlicensed Glock 48 Austina 9mm firearm, four rounds of 9mm ammunition, possession of 183 grams of cannabis and possession of 53 grams of cannabis as well as intent to sell both.
All charges against Daniel — represented by Sherfield Bowen — were withdrawn by the prosecution after he pleaded not guilty to each.
Cedeno, represented by Andrew O’kola, pleaded guilty to weapons charges and simple cannabis possession but denied intending to sell the drugs. Those were therefore withdrawn.
His sentencing was adjourned to October 3. Until then, he was placed on remand.
