Former President of the Senate dies

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Jun. 20, CMC – Former Senate President Sir Fred Gallop, is dead.
Sir Fred, a Queen’s Counsel, served as Senate President for 14 years,died early Wednesday.
Sir Fred, who also acted as Governor General on several occaisions, was also a  director of the Central Bank of Barbados for ten years and served as a Commissioner on the Judicial and Legal Services Commission of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).
In 1997, he was awarded the country’s highest honour – Knight of St. Andrew.
