Ambassador Bernard Percival Snr, who was shot in the leg and groin by a masked man as he entered his Paynters home on Tuesday night, says his health is progressing.

The former government minister remains under supervision at Medical Surgical Associates in St John’s.

He told Observer yesterday that his pain is controlled and that he will remain under observation for a few more days.

The 70-year-old businessman was also robbed of valuables during Tuesday night’s incident. Footage from his home surveillance cameras showed two masked men entering his property.

Police have not responded to repeated requests by Observer for comment.
