As he prepares to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the Johnny Walker-sponsored St Kitts & Nevis Golf Open Championships, former West Indies and national cricketer Eldine ‘Soca’ Baptiste is welcoming the timely sponsorship of US Polo and the Cool & Smooth fraternity.

The golfer, on Tuesday, received a contribution from the apparel brand that will see him outfitted for the duration of the three-day championships slated for June 3-5.

Baptiste said the aim is to dominate his division.

“Well, the expectation is to win whatever category I play in, whether it is seniors or the championship. I am going there to compete and I am just very grateful to Amir, Cool & Smooth and US Polo for sponsoring me; it’s greatly appreciated,” he said.

Baptiste said he’s looking forward to competing in St Kitts as well as the competitive spirit between the two countries.

“It’s close to Antigua so they come and participate in ours in terms of the Antigua Open and so we are just doing likewise. They say if you can’t play well, dress well, so this presentation is very good and I am greatly appreciative,” he said.

This year’s edition of the St Kitts & Nevis Golf Open Championships will take place at the Royal St Kitts Golf Club.
