Five prison inmates test positive for Covid

Mass Covid testing is underway at Her Majesty’s Prison after five inmates returned positive test results.

The numbers, according to Acting Superintendent Jermaine Anthony, may increase as testing continues.

Anthony did not disclose whether the infected persons were on remand or serving time, or whether they were men or women. The prisoners are currently in isolation, he added.

The prison has been under tight security since the start of the pandemic, with visits either suspended or curtailed.
