There was an absolute stunning display of attacking football which featured 19 goals scored in Monday’s Antigua and Barbuda Football Association’s Premier League fixtures. Old Road, Tamo and Belmont FC were all winners by wide margins not conceding a goal.
In the only scheduled Premier League encounter, Old Road FC demolished Five Islands FC 7-0 with Gisner Joseph emerging as the star of the show, completing a magnificent hat-trick with goals in the 19th, 67th, and 82nd minutes. The scoring festival began when Joseph broke the nil-all deadlock with his first goal, setting the tone for what would become a one-sided affair.
Old Road’s dominance continued as Jajuan Williams extended the lead in the 28th minute, followed quickly by Joylan Sinclair’s strike in the 33rd minute, taking their team into halftime with a commanding 3-0 lead. The second half saw no respite for Five Islands as Old Road maintained their relentless pressure. Joseph added two more to complete his hat-trick, while Clarens Exil contributed to the tally in the 74th minute. Johnathan Shoy put the final nail in the coffin with a stoppage-time goal, cementing the 7-0 victory.
In Second Division action, two matches produced similarly one-sided results. At PMS, Tamo FC secured a comprehensive 4-0 victory over West Ham FC. Kariem Knight opened the scoring in the very first minute, setting the stage for an unfortunate day for West Ham, who conceded two own goals through Damian Azille and Daniel Westford. Carlus Stephens rounded off the scoring in the 75th minute.
The day’s most emphatic result came at the ABFA Technical Center, where Belmont FC overwhelmed Glanvilles FC with an 8-0 victory. The Belmont attacking trio of Jahvier Joseph, Joshua Blenman, and Zamaal Greene each scored twice within the first 38 minutes of play. Joseph found the net in the 3rd and 38th minutes, Blenman struck in the 11th and 29th minutes, while Greene’s double came in the 15th and 24th minutes. Late goals from Urel Mitchell and Rondre Mills in the 74th and 83rd minutes respectively completed the rout.
