Fitzroy’s Rewinding stun Sandals in Business Basketball League

Fitzroy’s Rewinding stunned former champions, Sandals, on Wednesday night in the Cool and Smooth Business Basketball League.

Rewinding edged Sandals 48-46 in the first match of the double-header evening at the JSC Sports Complex.

Eric Joseph led the victors with 20 points while teammate and speedster, Akeem “Chemist” Davis, chipped in netting 10.

Despite a 25-point effort from Devorn Benjamin and a 12-point performance by Raviel Burton, Sandals could not find an answer to the tenacious defense led by Foston George.

This now puts Sandals’ record at 1-1 while Fitzroy’s Rewinding remain undefeated with a 2-0 record.

Eye Mobile Vision Care were also victorious at JSC that night hammering A-Mobile, 74-32, in the feature match.

Darryl Goodwin had a game-high 25 points for the victors while teammates, Teran Zachariah and Mikie Charles, sank 17 and 12 points respectively.

A-Mobile’s Jamal Hazelwood had seven points in a losing effort.

Meanwhile at the YMCA Sports Complex, APUA Head Office trounced Digicel 69-36, Pointe FM defeated Burton’s Laundry 57-49 and Kennedy’s thrashed Area 51 Invaders 55-37.

Nickon McGregor was the leading scorer for Head Office with 13 points while teammates Tavarus Benta and Delornje Jules both netted 11.

Cohen DeSouza also got in on the action scoring 10 points.

Digicel’s Octave Francis had eight points.

Felix Hamilton had 22 points for Pointe FM while Daniel Perez sank 10 for Kennedy’s.

Games will continue on Saturday night at the JSC Sports Complex as Burton’s Laundry will battle Area 51 at 6:30; at 7:30 Kennedy’s will meet Fitzroy’s Rewinding and at 8:30, Sandals will play APUA Head Office.
