The Fisheries Division within the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Barbuda Affairs recently conducted two sets of training workshops which attracted specific groups within the fishing industry.
The first targeted vendors and focused on the safe handling and processing of finfish.
The second in the series of workshops, which was delivered to fishers across the island, addressed the safe handling of fish aboard vessels.
That workshop was held at Urlings and the Fisheries Complex at Point Wharf.
The training sessions were facilitated by the Caribbean Fisheries Training and Development Institute out of Trinidad.
Participants will also receive certificates from the Institute.
