Fire destroyed an abandoned building at Yorks Village yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters from the St. John’s Fire Department responded to the call shortly after 3 p.m.
They are yet to determine the origin of the fire that destroyed the wooden building.
An officer, who spoke to our reporters, said the home had been abandoned for quite some time and they were unable to detect whether or not electricity from the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) was connected to the building.
The officer also revealed that the one-storey building was so badly damaged they could not tell whether it was a two or three-bedroom structure.
