With the biggest crisis in modern history facing the country, never before has food security been brought into sharper focus.
Farmers like Kenneth Thwaites and Geno Browne, co-owners of the Wally Browne Farm in Bethesda, are among those playing their part in the national effort.

These photos – captured by Edwin Gifford – show Thwaites (red shirt) and Browne (black shirt), and others, out and about at work.
