Fearless Crew dull Daggers, Coolers put Clippers on ice in local basketball

Fearless Crew kept their unbeaten streak intact with a 71-43 blowout of Old Road Daggers in Division Two of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association’s (ABBA) competition on Monday.

Rafiki Harris led the charge for Fearless Crew, racking up 25 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while Ralph Spooner added 11 points and eight rebounds to the effort, making it six wins in as many matches. They remain at the top of the standings with 12 points.

Ariel Quallis was the only scorer of note for Daggers, sinking 17 points and picking up 14 rebounds. Daggers are fifth in the eight-team table with seven points.

Still in Division Two, Ottos Coolers placed neighbourhood rivals Ottos Clippers on ice, winning the contest 79-45. Yannick Samuel led the charge for the victors with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Randy Campos performed credibly off the bench with 13 points and five rebounds. Shaquille Kelly was also on target for the winners with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Daryll Matthew was the only scorer of note for Clippers with 16 points and eight rebounds.

In the other Division Two game on Monday, Max Gunners took aim at Rebels to win by a 21-point margin, taking the contest 72-51.

Keaddy Martin and Olivee Morris led the onslaught for the victors with 25 and 23 points respectively. They also had eight rebounds each. Bruce White, playing off the bench, top-scored for Rebels with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Meanwhile, in the lone Division Three game contested Monday, Ottos Vikings beat Young Rivals 74-50 and moved to second in the standings with eight points.

Cecil Farrel led off the bench for Vikings with 17 points, while Adrian Carnegie and Shamar Joseph contributed with 15 and 14 points respectively. Tahj Kirby was the top scorer for Young Rivals with 18 points.
