The family of Shawn Sylvester Warner, who was allegedly electrocuted in Jolly Harbour last Tuesday, will be holding a candlelight vigil this week to honour his memory.
Warner’s sister, Natasha James, told OBSERVER media on Sunday, that the vigil will be held on Tuesday evening, which will make a week since her brother died.
“Tuesday will make a week since the incident happened and we will be gathering at the Epicurean Supermarket [in Jolly Harbour] and walk down to the spot where he fell down after being electrocuted. We will have a pastor on hand to share some prayers,” James said in the brief interview.
James also revealed that the police are still conducting investigations into the matter, as the family continues to hope that there will be more details about the death of the 26-year-old man. She also noted that the family has not received word from the owners of the property to date.
Warner was allegedly electrocuted when he came into contact with a loose electrical wire in Jolly Harbour some time after 6 p.m. on November 6. He and his mother had just packed up their business for the day and were preparing to head home.
Days after the incident the management Caribbean Development (Antigua) Ltd issued a statement expressing sympathy to the family while at the same time stated that the property is safe.
