Eye Mobile and BoE win in Business Basketball as teams jostle for playoff spots

There were wins for Eye Mobile Vision Care and Board of Education (BoE) as league play in the Cool & Smooth sponsored Business Basketball competition looks set for an exciting conclusion at the JSC basketball complex.

Board of Education, who finished league play with a record of seven wins and five losses, enjoyed a 55-44 triumph over Fearless Crew in the second game of a double-header on Tuesday.

Xavier Meade led the charge for BoE with 21 points, 13 rebounds and three assists while Jesus Emmanuel and David Hernandez sank 11 and 10 points respectively. Emmanuel also had 10 rebounds and nine steals while Hernandez had 11 rebounds and seven steals. In a losing effort, Takeem Martin sank 19 points for Fearless Crew while picking up eight rebounds and dishing out five steals.

In the night’s opening clash, Eye Mobile Vision Care defeated Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board, 72-64.

Dominick Anthony was the chief contributor for Eye Mobile with 17 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and five steals. Jaylele Joseph and Shaheem O’Marde both contributed with 16 points. O’Marde also added seven assists and two blocks. In a losing effort, Devorn Benjamin picked up 26 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Russell Daley contributed with 12 points.

League champions Sandals lead the standings with Anjo Wholesale in the second slot. Richie’s Shooterz and H Wright Promotions were set to clash in the third place contest on Wednesday night. The Playoffs are set to shoot off on Saturday.
