Extraordinary Men bounced back from their upsetting 3-1 loss to Dun Bar FC on opening night, to record their first win of the Over 40 Football League over the weekend.

Extraordinary Men edged out Golden Grove Masters 1-0 in the first match of the quadruple header Sunday evening clash at the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Technical facility.

Ralston Phillip’s 24th minute goal moved the victors to fourth on the standings with three points after two matches while Golden Grove Masters, who remain winless thus far in the competition, sit at the bottom of the eight-team table.

Up and Over FC kept their perfect record intact this time with a 2-1 win over Westham FC.

Former West indies cricketer and former national footballer, Sylvester ‘Bouncing’ Joseph drew first blood for the victors by scoring in the 10th minute, while teammate and former national footballer Kerry Skepple found the back of the net in the 40th.

Steffan Hughes was the lone goal scorer for Westham having scored a penalty kick in minute 22.

This win put Up and Over FC in third place despite having the same number of points as Turf Masters and Dun Bar FC as both teams have a better goal difference.

In fact, Turf Masters lead the pack after recording a 5-2 win over Legacy FC on Sunday while Dun Bar FC are second after a 2-0 thrashing of winless Tun n Bang FC.

Jamary Galloway recorded a hattrick for Turf Masters FC scoring in the 25th, 62nd and 64th minutes, while Holister Young scored twice in the 21st and 60th minutes.

Former national player, Kenny Morgan got the ball rolling for Dun Bar FC in the 4th while a penalty kick by Kendall Pennyfeather in the 50th minute secured the win.

The 11-a-side competition will see the eight teams facing off in two rounds of 80-minute matches, with a cash prize of $5,000 for the winners and $3,000 and $1,500 for second and third place up for grabs.

Matches will continue on Sunday starting at 3pm with WestHam FC playing Tun n Bang FC, Legacy FC facing Golden Grove Masters, Extraordinary Men versus Up and Over FC, and Dun Bar FC vs Turf Masters.
