Carson Matthew Jr of Upper Fort Road appeared before court on Wednesday charged with escaping lawful custody and was sentenced to three months in prison.
Matthew escaped from St John’s Police Station on January 8 and was later recaptured. He was charged with house breaking and larceny, which are yet to be answered.
Police had previously issued a wanted notice for his arrest.
