The Ministry of Education is pleased to announce the implementation of enhanced security measures at the Harrison Centre of the Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education (ABICE).

These measures are designed to prioritize the safety and well-being of all students, faculty, and staff.

In light of recent global and regional trends, the Ministry has undertaken a comprehensive review of security protocols at educational institutions.

At the Harrison Centre, students entering the facility are properly searched using metal detecting wands by trained security personnel, and upgraded access control procedures.

The Hon. Daryll Matthew, Minister of Education, emphasized the importance of creating a secure learning environment, stating, “The safety of our students is non-negotiable. Education can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and security.

These new measures at ABICE reaffirm our commitment to providing a safe space where students can focus on their personal and professional development without fear or distraction.”

The Ministry of Education extends its appreciation to the management and staff of ABICE for their collaboration and dedication to the safety of students.

These measures reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering secure, inclusive, and supportive educational environments that empower students to succeed.
