English Harbour FC and Guydadli FC recorded impressive victories on Monday in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association Second Division featuring two matches that saw the home sides dominate their respective fixtures.
At English Harbour, the home team whipped neighbours Bethesda FC 4-1. After a patient first half, Akeem Weekes broke the deadlock in the 40th minute to give English Harbour the lead. While O’shale Simon pulled one back for Bethesda in the 55th minute to draw them level, English Harbour’s second-half performance proved decisive. Delroy Simpson restored the lead in the 71st minute, followed by an unfortunate own goal from Vernon Jeffers in the 75th minute. Oshane Blackwood sealed the victory with a goal in the 88th minute, cementing English Harbour’s 4-1 triumph.
Meanwhile, at Johnsons, Guydadli FC were clinical in securing a 3-0 victory over CPTSA Wings SC. Taijah Christian opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 19th minute, followed by Michael Peters extending the lead in the 28th minute. Kamari Hewlett‘s goal just before halftime in the 42nd minute completed the scoring, as Guydadli maintained their clean sheet through the second half.
