English Harbour FC and Swetes FC were winners in the Antigua and Barbuda First Division football competition on Tuesday as teams continue to tussle for positions heading into the Christmas break.
Playing at home, former top flight champions English Harbour FC blanked Earthquake FC 3-0. They were led by Clarence Marsh who recorded a double strike while Sadaeki Frederick has a single strike.
Meanwhile, Swetes FC edged Lion Hill 1-0 when they met at the Mack Pond playing field in All Saints.
Demoted from the Premier Division after a dismal showing in the ABFA playoffs in March, Swetes had the lone goal from national striker Shalon Knight, who netted from the penalty spot in minute 64.
SAP FC and Bolans played to a 1-1 draw when they met at Bolans in a round-south derby. Tyrique Tonge put SAP ahead in the 30th minute but a 53rd minute conversion from Bolans’ Tarik Highland ensured that both teams took a point from the contest.
The other scheduled encounter between Bendals FC and the Liberta Blackhawks was postponed to a later date to be announced.
