Empire Nation’s Head Coach Ian ‘Pam’ Tittle is optimistic about the team’s prospects in the upcoming two-day cricket season, despite last year’s Finals disappointment against Liberta Blackhawks.

With the competition shifting to a points-based system without a Finals, Tittle emphasized focusing on consistent performance. “Players must commit to training. We’re getting six or seven players, but not the full team due to work commitments. Our goal is winning every game to maximize points,” Tittle stated.

Last season’s highest run-scorer, Tyrone Williams Jr remains pivotal despite questions surrounding his Leeward Islands team involvement. “He performed excellently in the past. I expect better this year;  he has more to offer both nationally and for Leeward Islands cricket,” said Tittle.

The squad sees significant changes with Jalen Harris departing to Pigotts Crushers, while Michael Harrilall, Nick Elvin, and Yannique Watley join the roster. Veteran Justin Athanaze continues his role, primarily as a bowling allrounder, while his multi-talented son Jaquan Athanaze is expected to play for Combined Schools.

Young leg spinner Micah McKenzie‘s workload will be managed this season following his impressive under-19 showing in St Vincent, with potential West Indies under-19 camp participation ahead. Skipper Kenrick Scott’s batting contributions remain crucial, though Tittle noted his need for better focus under pressure.

Tittle also welcomed ABCA’s expanded format offerings, including T20, T10, and President’s Cup competitions, viewing them as valuable opportunities for player development across different cricket formats.
