Individuals whose voter ID cards have expired will be able to begin the process of replacing them at all seventeen (17) constituencies across Antigua and Barbuda from today (Monday).
According to an update from the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission’s (ABEC) Facebook page, replacement of the expired cards will be done at the registration units in the respective constituencies.
Persons are asked to take along their expired voter’s card, a valid government ID – particularly in the event their voter’s card has been lost – along with proof of address and any documents updating their marital status.
Cards will be updated with a new photo and signature and validated with fingerprints, and will be available from the same registration unit within two weeks of application.
Registration officers and registration clerks at ABEC recently participated in a customer service and delivery-oriented workshop, a refresher training ahead of today’s exercise.
Units will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm.
The next general election is Constitutionally due in 2028.
