Education minister Michael Browne has been rushed to hospital with what is believed to be a “heart” issue.
Government’s Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst confirmed the information moments ago, exclusively to OBSERVER media.
We reached out to Hurst after a source told our newsroom that the minister “had a heart attack” and was taken to the hospital. It is not yet clear where and when the minister fell ill.
The source did not want to be named, but added that it is quite alarming for the minister to have a heart issue given his age.
Browne is said to be in his 40s, according to the source.
It’s his second term serving as a Member of Parliament under the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party and as minister of education.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
