Wadabe Roberts of Villa, and Patrice Christian of Fort Road were remanded to St John’s Police Station on Thursday after they appeared in the St John’s Magistrate’s Court to answer a number of charges related to robbery.
According to a police release, two men who had been in custody on suspicion of robbery over the Whit weekend, were jointly charged on Wednesday with two counts of aggravated robbery, possession of an imitation firearm, and carrying abroad an offensive weapon.
Allegations are that Roberts and Christian had been armed with a gun and a pair of scissors on June 5 when they robbed a resident of Villa and Yorks of an undisclosed sum of money and a mobile phone.
They were later arrested on suspicion of robbery, when police found them inside a vehicle near St Johnston’s Village Playing Field with a number of items to include an imitation firearm, a pair of scissors, a grey hoodie and a red bandanna.
They have been remanded to the station pending further investigations.
