Dredgers lift Mandy Premier League title

The Mandy Premier League came to its long awaited climax this week with Dredgers lifting the title after beating the Good Morning Jojo Media team by nine runs in the finals played at Powells on Tuesday.
Opting to bat first, Dredgers posted a total of 84 for four in their 10 overs with Melvin Charles hitting 44 not out and Tyrone Williams Jr adding 23 runs.
Wilson Charles was the pick of the bowlers for the Good Morning Jojo Media team, claiming two wickets in his two overs.
The Media team, when their turn at the crease arrived, fell just nine runs short of the target, getting to 75 for five in their allotted 10 overs. Baldwin Anthony top scored with 28 runs while Owen Graham chipped in with 22. Dean Williams grabbed two wickets bowling for the victors.
Graham emerged the top runs getter for the tournament with 281 runs which included 20 fours and 24 sixes while Gale Lee, also of the Good Morning Jojo Media team, was the leading female wicket taker with 12 wickets.
Graham and Lee also had the highest individual scores of 91 and 30 runs respectively. Sasha Michael was the female player with the most runs after she tallied 48. Daren Benta was the tournament’s chief wicket taker with 20 scalps in the men’s division.
Both Benta and Lee were the male and female MVPs of the tournament.
