In an exciting finale to the LL Supply Ltd & Total Imports Island Boys Sports Club 20 Over Tape Ball Classic, Dredgers were victorious with a well-executed five-wicket win over Buckleys 3J’s at Powells on Sunday afternoon.

After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Buckleys 3J’s posted a competitive 168 for seven in their allotted 20 overs, built around two outstanding half-centuries. Steve Martin led the charge with an explosive 55, featuring five boundaries and four sixes, while Gregson Merrick matched his teammate’s effort with an equally impressive 50, including three fours and five maximums.

The Dredgers’ bowling attack was led by Javaughn James, who maintained excellent control to finish with figures of two for 19 from his four overs. D’hari Francis, despite being more expensive, also claimed two crucial wickets, though conceding 45 runs from his spell.

Chasing 169 for victory, Dredgers demonstrated their batting depth with several crucial contributions. Mervin Higgins top-scored with a well-crafted 42, while Jedediah Martin Jr played a crucial unbeaten knock of 27 to guide his team home. J’Quan Athanaze (26) and Tyrone Williams Jr (23) provided vital support in the middle order.

Buckleys 3J’s fought hard with the ball, with Rodney Williams two for 26 and Gregson Merrick two for 32 but couldn’t prevent Dredgers from reaching their target with seven balls to spare.

The Player of the Finals was Mervin Higgins for his 42 runs while other awards received at the closing ceremony were Overall Best Bowling Figures by Demari Benta with five for eight runs. Overall Most Wickets went to J’Quan Athanaze who had 14 wickets. Kerry Mentore received double awards after winning Overall Most Runs with 422 runs and securing the MVP Award after averaging 140.67, batting in eight innings with five not outs & grabbing 10 wickets.
