Miss Dominique Trotman, has captured the 1st runner-up spot in the Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant held in Nevis on Monday night.
This latest accomplishment follows right behind a similar success in the Queen of Carnival competition, where she secured the 1st runner-up position.
Trotman who has had a long and vigorous pageant journey this year, competing in the Miss Antigua Barbuda Labour Queen, Queen of Carnival and Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant respectively, says that she is humbled and honoured to have represented the twin-island state on a regional stage.
The graphic designer, garnered 1,799 points, gliding her way into the winner’s circle.
Speaking to Observer, the Antiguan beauty says that she is elated to have walked away with the 1st runner-up spot, noting that it was a bit challenging.
“I think ‘proud’ is an understatement, placing 1st runner-up in a regional pageant is quite an accomplishment, it was an exhilarating experience being able to vie for the crown among other regional beauties, it is indeed an honour.”
Trotman, encourages young women who aspire to participate in pageants to believe in themselves, and not allow negative words and actions to dissuade them from their ambitions.
“I would say go for it, but do so showing up as your authentic self, because showing-off your personality on stage will assist you in loving each and every segment, knowing that you are vying for that crown with your heart on your sleeve, and your soul in your feet.”
Wooing the judge’s heart was Shequanna Holder of Guyana with 1,883 points, copping the coveted title for the second successive year.
Apart from winning the Miss Guyana crown, she also copped the Best Interview, Best Talent, Best Evening Gown, and Best Question & Answer Awards.
Kyanna Dyer of Dominica placed 2nd runner-up with 1,761 points.
The pageant featured a total of 11 queens from across the Caribbean who competed in various segments including swimwear, evening wear, question-and-answer and costume.
