The team that was seeded number eight before the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Division Two Playoffs began has swept their way into the finals and will await the winner of Game Three in the other semifinal match played between Spanish Heat and Da Project.
That team is the Rebels who have swept clean the League Champions Lava Smoke Shop Lower Ottos Warriors in the first round of the Playoffs and have brought the same fate to Jan Serv Fearless Crew winning 2-0.
The feat was completed last evening at the JSC Sports Complex and saw them win 71-68. They were dominant in the first three quarters winning 12-10, 17-15 and 20-16.
Fearless Crew shot back to win 27-22 in the final quarter but were unable to overcome the Rebels overall lead.
Zuri Nesbitt was the Rebels best shooter on the night with 24 points while Buell Henry scored ten with 14 rebounds.
Rafiki Harris top-scored with 15 points while Delroy Foster had 9 points with 12 rebounds.
In the other encounter Da Project was able to draw the three-match series level with Spanish Heat one all as they won 77-71.
Olivee Morris top-scored for them with 24 points, Bryan Matthew had 21 and Tyler Jacobs 13.
They trailed the Heat in the first two quarters losing 24-14 and 20-16 going into halftime 44-30.
They were able to regroup and came back out firing, winning the third set 23-20 to cut down on the 14-point lead to 11.
With the overall score at 64-53, Da Project literally closed down the offence of their opponents winning the quarter 24-7.
It was a remarkable effort from both their offensive and defensive play. Spanish Heat’s Wilkin Floyd had a high score of 20 points, Kevin Pimental 15, Ismael Palemo 14 and Jesus Emmanuel 10 points.
Game Three will be played today at the JSC Sports Complex.
