Deran Benta smashed 26 sixes and four fours to help Bullets to 218 for 2 from the allotted ten overs in the ABSCA T10 Mixed Competition on Sunday 18th February.
The former Leeward Islands wicketkeeper batsman smashed the hapless Dredgers side with utter disdain. In reply, Dredgers could only get to 83 for four from their 10 overs, losing by 135 runs. Gaynell O’Garro scored 35, Grace Persuad 20 while Mary Browne of Bullets had 1 for 10.
However, Bullets lost their other match of the day against Buckley’s 3J’s by 43 runs. 3J’s amassed 115 for 2 from their 10 overs with Denley Thomas cracking 57 and Randino Turner 25. They were then restricted to 62 for eight from 10 overs as Morrison Browne scored 18 with Menover Govia collecting three for seven runs.
Dredgers, like Bullets, won one and lost one on the day as they were victorious over Rackaman Construction Strictly Business by eight runs. They batted first, scoring 107 for four from their 10 overs as Rae Charles made 48 and Mervin Higgins had 24. Adrian Abbott had two for 12 for Strictly Business. The business side then replied with 96 for one, as Owen Graham made 62 not out while Kim George had 27.
PMS defeated Sisserou by 15 runs as Walter Carr, Kenny Benjamin and Kushana David had scores of 28, 27 and 26 to help PMS to 96 for two. Sissorou responded with 81 for five with Carla Weatherhead making 15. PMS’ Patara Francis had three for 15 while Terrance Thompson had 2 for 25.
However, they lost to Buckley’s 3J’s by seven wickets. They batted first, scoring 80 for three from their 10 overs with Clarence Francis top-scoring with 24. Buckley got to the target with two balls to spare as Randino Turner cracked 58 while Kenny Benjamin had two for 17.
