The ABAVA Local League commenced last Wednesday 13th March at the YMCA Sports Complex with Royal Cruisers tasting defeat in the opening encounter against defending Champions CAI Da Squad.
They were beaten in straight sets 11-25, 17-25, and 15-25 in a match that lasted one hour and 11 minutes.
In the second encounter, Pytonz pulverised TOAMedia and MKUU Tours Charges Velocity also in three straight sets with scores of 25-9, 25-10 and 25-6.
In the matches played on Thursday, Starz beat Paragons in three sets to one in the first match of the evening.
They won the first, 25-12, but lost the second set by 20-25.
The last two sets saw them bounce back to break the tie with 25-22 and 25-12 wins.
The match lasted one hour and 51 minutes.
The final match of the evening was played between Invaders and Top Ranking Storming Lions with the latter being victorious.
It was a closely fought match as Storming Lions won in three straight sets 25-21, 25-22, and 25-21.
The action will continue on Tuesday, 19th March at 6:45 pm when Sharks will face off with Top Ranking Storming Lions and in the later match, Stoneville will battle Invaders.
