Defending Champions continue winning ways

Defending Under-16 Antigua and Barbuda Netball Association (ABNA) champions, Stingray City Stingerz, are well on their way to claiming the title for the second consecutive year.

Stingerz edged out Massy United Grays Green 13-10 on Thursday afternoon at the YMCA Sports Complex.

Last year’s MVP, Tekiah Minott, led the charge for the champions, sinking eight of her 29 attempts; while teammate Iszarea Lloyd chipped in, scoring five of 16.

Grays Green’s Drucilla Laville sank six of her 10 attempts, while teammate Ianthea Lawrence banked four of 15 attempts.

SW Electronics Black Lightening joined Stingerz in the winner’s circle, thrashing Willikies 32-9.

Shermiah Pacquette made an impressive 32 of her 43 attempts for the victors while A. Roberts and A. Thomas netted five and four goals respectively.

The league will officially end on Sunday with a fast five tournament and the closing ceremony.
