Callaloo Cay Old Road Daggers now find
themselves one win away from claiming their first ever title in the Antigua and
Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 2 playoffs.
The round south team went 2-1 up in their best of five finals versus F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays II after handing the Ojays a 61- 59 defeat on Sunday night at the JSC Sports Complex.
Daggers, having been 1-0 down in the series, rallied to win two straight matches with former national player, Kelvin “Shugy” Simon leading the victors with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Daviae Aaron assisted with 17 points and six rebounds while teammate, Kedar Clarke chipped in sinking 15 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and making four steals.
Veteran Curl Simon was the leading player for the Ojays, netting 16 points and grabbing nine rebounds with teammate, Keddy Martin contributing with 11 points and five assists.
