Cutting Edge win two straight games in CPTSA youth football tournament

Cutting Edge Football Academy had a 100 percent winning record in the CPTSA Wings Summer Invitational Under-13 Championship on Wednesday, winning both of their encounters by huge margins at the North Coast playing field.

The Vincent “Nabu” Samuel coached team rallied to a solid nine-nil (9-0) triumph over CPTSA Wings with Jaariq Roberts recorded a hattrick and Allan Henry getting a brace. There were single conversions from Dekai Hutson, Mkazo Lindsay, Ethan Barton and Chase Gardner.

In their other contest, Cutting Edge had the better of Gray’s Green by a 6-2 margin. Henry added a hattrick to the brace he had scored against Wings while Hutson netted twice and Kasheem Marcel scored once. Khalil Lawrence scored both goals for the opponents.

There was victory as well for Hoppers FC as they edged Athletic International Academy (AIA), out of Trinidad, by a 4-2 margin. Kiran Cordice scored twice with single strikes coming from Kavita Cordice and Kharie Lloyd for the victors. Khaim Atiba and Jordan Blanc each scored once for AIA.

In their other encounter, Hoppers played to a 1-1 draw with Urlings.

Meanwhile, Pigotts SC beat Lion Hill 5-0. Tevon Henderson led the charge with a hattrick while Uzziah Zachariah struck once. The other conversion was an own goal by Calvin Wildman who inadvertently put the ball into the back of his own net.

In other results from Wednesday, Liberta Blackhawks beat Jennings FC 2-1 with goals from Sherwin Martin and Asante Warner for the victors and Pigotts FC beat Gray’s Greene 3-2 with goals coming from Kaiique Martin, Jadon Greene and Tevon Henderson for the winners.
