Workers who regularly interact with customers are being urged to take extra precautions in the fight against the Covid-19 virus.
The warning from the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) is aimed at people who work in banks, supermarkets, community shops, bakeries and gas stations, among others.
“It is important that these employees practice social distancing, always wear masks, wash hands
regularly, avoid touching their faces and regularly clean and sanitise work areas to prevent the
spread of the virus,” a statement said.
Meanwhile, NODS continues to encourage the proper use of masks by residents. NODS advises
that only the cloth masks or cloth coverings should be washed, ironed and reused. All other
masks should only be worn once and then discarded. The N95 mask can be worn for eight hours
while surgical masks should not be worn for longer than four hours.
Residents are reminded that hands should be washed with soap and water before putting on masks and individuals should avoid touching them.
