Residents from across the nation took to the streets yesterday for a well-attended march to mark National Day of Prayer aimed at stemming the scourge of violent crime.
The observance sought to collectively seek God’s divine intervention, guidance and blessings on the twin island nation.
Government announced a half public holiday for Thursday to enable people to participate in the religious events. The march – which departed from the Multipurpose Centre in Perry Bay at 1.30pm – was joined by politicians from both sides of the political divide.
The day’s events were organised by the Ecclesiastical Commission, and involved various Christian denominations, government representatives, and other partners. (Photos by Observer’s Samantha Simon)
