Credit union honours outstanding employees

St Johns’ Co-operative Credit Union recently bestowed honours to three employees at its annual end-of-year dinner and awards ceremony held at Sugar Club Restaurant.

All staff and persons giving volunteer service on the management committees of the credit union were appreciated at the gala, but special recognition went to the three stars, who were selected through staff votes (Star of the Staff), customer nominations (Member Service Excellence) and supervisor evaluations (Employee of the Year), a release said.

The award winners were Employee of the Year, Sharol Christian-Malone; Star of the Staff, Arlene Appleton; and Member Service Excellence Award (introduced for the first time this year), Roxanne Grant.

In a statement on the event, General Manager Jennifer Whyte noted that having two repeat winners among the awardees this year – Christian-Malone and Appleton — is testimony to the emphasis placed by St John’s Co-operative Credit Union on consistency in the delivery of exceptional service to internal and external customers.

In addition to bearing the award title for one year, the winners were honoured with certificates of recognition and prizes of hotel experiences and return airline tickets, courtesy of the credit union, in partnership with Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa, Jolly Beach Resort and LIAT, the Caribbean airline.

St John’s Credit Union emphasised its appreciation for the good will demonstrated by these corporate entities that joined them in celebrating its stars.
