Newly promoted team, Ottos Coolers continued their winning ways in the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 2 league on Monday, defeating Callaloo Cay Old Road Daggers 61-40 in the feature match of a double-header at the JSC Sports Complex.
National junior player, Lincoln Weekes led Coolers to their second straight victory with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Teammates, Danny Perez and Javon Simon assisted making 14 points and 5 assists and 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Daniel Perez and Alexis Jackson, also of Coolers, grabbed a combined 20 rebounds.
Daggers’ Kevin Cornwall netted 10 points while teammate, Craig Simon dominated the boards grabbing 24 rebounds.
Police Vertex also found themselves in the winners’ circle as they defeated Max Fernandez Gunners, 75-37 in their Division 3 match-up.
Deandre Punter led the lawmen to victory with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
Amiel Webber assisted with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 10 steals while teammate, Quincy George grabbed 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
Gunners’ T. Jacobs sank 12 and grabbed 11 rebounds with teammate, Julian Henry chipping in with 9 points and 4 steals.
In the other Division 3 encounter, F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays 3 edged out Bolans, 54-52.
Teyon Lake and national junior player, Delornje Jules led the Ojays with a combined 34 points while teammate, Judah Ferris contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals.
Mico Scotland grabbed 9 rebounds for the victors.
Bolans’ Bryan Aaron had a game high 21 points and 12 rebounds with teammate, Tindale Telemaque chipping in sinking 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Machdale Simmons grabbed 18 rebounds in a losing effort.
