Coolers bounce back, Old Road upset Rebels

Front-runners, Ottos Coolers bounced back from their defeat to Harold Lovell Rockersville earlier this week to trounce F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays 2, 68-52 at the JSC Sports Complex on Wednesday night.
The Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 2 match-up saw national junior player, Lincoln Weekes, lead the victors with 20 points.
He was assisted by another national junior player, Javon Simon, who sank 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Teammates, Danny Perez and Alexis Jackson chipped in as Perez netted 15 points and Jackson snatched 10 rebounds.
Percy Adams of Ovals 2 had 14 points and six rebounds with assistance from veteran, Curl Simon, who sank 13 points and 14 rebounds and Ndegwa Malone who netted 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Coolers now move to a 12-1 record while Ovals 2 dropped to 5-7.
Old Road Daggers picked up a pivotal win on Wednesday at Ottos as they defeated Antigua Home and Office Depot Rebels, 56-46.
Kedar Clarke led the country team to a 7-6 record with his 14-point performance while Kareem Blair of Rebels sank 16 points and six rebounds in a losing effort.
He was assisted by Kirwan Peterson who had 10 points.
Rebels now hold a 7-5 record.
Ottos Officials broke their 5-game losing streak as they ran a clinic on Christos KAG United, 60-30, in Ottos.
Kareem Jacobs had a game high 23 points and six rebounds with teammate Alvin Titus contributing with 20 points and six rebounds.
Teammates, Presley Telemaque and Duane Christian dominated the boards as they grabbed a combined 31 rebounds.
United’s Thomas Skeritt and John Samuel both scored 11 points.
Officials now hold a 3-10 record while United moved to 2-10.
In the lone Division 3 encounter, Wadadli Elites walloped Max Fernandez Gunners, 90-46 at JSC.
Jamie Robinson had a game 24 points and four steals to lead Wadadli Elites to a 7-4 record.
He was assisted by Najee George who had 20 points, six rebounds and 8 steals.
National junior player, Sheldon Gomes Jr. also chipped in as he sank 18 points, made 10 assists and had seven steals.
Gunners’ Reginald Barnes netted 10 points in a losing effort while teammates, Sean Thomas and Zonte Ladoo grabbed a combined 26 rebounds.
Gunners dropped to a 3-8 record.
