Cool Runnings and Nat Pan My Team (NPMT) will face-off in the finals of the Fort Road football league today.

Cool Runnings secured the first spot in the finals after defeating Fort Road East (FRE), 3-2, on penalty kicks following a deadlock of 1-1, after regular time on Monday afternoon at the Fort Road playing field.

Cool Runnings had the victory under wraps in regular time with a strike from Shamoy Carty but that celebration would be halted as an own goal by Carlus Carty gave Fort Road East some much needed momentum.

NPMT had an arguably easier route to the finals, edging out Manchester, 2-1 on Tuesday.

Lloyd Jeremy was a goal shy of a hattrick to top off his spectacular performance for the victors finding the back of the net twice in the 23rd and 40th minutes.

National player, Mervyn Hazelwood scored the lone goal for Manchester.

Both teams will meet in the finals today at 5 p.m. at the Fort Road playing field.

Immediately following the match will be the awards ceremony.

The league is sponsored by Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa, Rackaman Construction, Trade Winds Hotel, Star Point Services, Family Pride Superette and Larry’s Service station.
