Cool Runnings and Hoppers win big over the weekend

2018 Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) Premier League champions, Greenbay Hoppers, continue to make an impressive showing in the Anderson E. Carty Grays Green Football League.
The champions picked up a convincing 4-2 victory over Royal Truth on Saturday at the King George V Ground.
National player, Javorn Stevens, drew first blood for the champions with assistance from teammates, Novel Francis, Kedar Clarke and Anthony Henry who all found the back of the net in the second half.
Former national player, Kendall Pennyfeather scored both goals for Royal Truth.
In the other match played that day, All Saints United edged out, Bendals, 2-1.
Kenduka Challenger scored both goals for the victors hitting home in the 18th and 25th minute while the lone goal for Bendals came from Veron Batchelor in the 50th minute.
Sunday Runners suffered yet another defeat in the Fort Road football league on Friday, falling to Cool Runnings by a 5-0 margin. 
Chad Vidal, Kevon Abercombe, Shaquille Carty, Nigel Graham and Rodney Lawrence were the goal-scorers for Cool Runnings.
In the matches played on Saturday, Fort Road East edged out Fort Road West, 1-0, while Manchester and Cool Runnings played to a nil-all draw. 
Sawandy Ambrose scored the winning goal for F.R. East.
Meanwhile in the Denfield “Tody” Thomas Memorial Football League in Liberta, New Generations edged out Pro Balles, 2-1, while Sick People fell to Bethesda by a 1-0 deficit.
Wilden Cornwall Jr. and T’andre “Skinny guy” Straker both scored for New Generation while Chunsea “Super two” Martin hit home for Bethesda.
In the other match played on Friday, English Harbor edged out Young Farmers, 1-0.
Shaq Williams scored the lone goal.
