A short time from now, the interim organisation comprising various farmers’ groups across the country, is expected to be registered as they recognise the importance of unity.
The National Coalition of Farmers, headed by Fitzmorgan Greenaway, is in the process of drafting its Constitution.
Six weeks is the time within which he expects the registration to be done.
“I want to be objective too, not to rush it. All of it is voluntary so I don’t want to impose on anybody unnecessarily and unduly. So, I am being patient, building character and saying that I give it six weeks,” he said.
He noted the importance of getting this done.
“It is something that this country needs. This country needs groupings. You see when these projects come in like this, it propels us or we see the need to get together because some of us are scared of losing our lands and we don’t know what the outcome is going to be…so it draws us together,” he said.
