Young women curious about the work of a diplomat are invited to compete for the chance to be a Commissioner for a day.

To mark International Women’s Day, the British High Commission is offering two females the opportunity to step into Resident British Commissioner Lindsy Thompson’s shoes for one day in May.

To apply, women must be aged between 18 and 25 and be a resident of Antigua and Barbuda. They must also follow @LT_in_AandB on Twitter and lindsy.thompsonuk on Instagram, along with UKinCaribbean on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Contestants should then create a video no longer than 90 seconds identifying challenges to gender equality in Antigua and Barbuda – and recommendations to address them.

Videos should be posted on competitors’ social media pages using the hashtag #RBC4adayA&B, and a link to the post must be emailed to [email protected].

The initiative is aimed at young women with an interest in international affairs, keen to learn more about what the UK is doing in Antigua and Barbuda.

Entrees must be received before midnight on March 31.
