The committal hearing for two women implicated in a major wig theft case has been postponed.
Moesha Wright and Natherna Rodgers, both residents of Bishopsgate Street, are facing charges of receiving stolen goods valued at $127,675.
The pair appeared before Magistrate Dexter Wason yesterday, but their hearing was rescheduled for November 25.
The incident in question occurred between March 31 and April 1 when Everything Hair 268, a popular hair store on Old Parham Road, was burglarised.
The theft resulted in the loss of more than 100 wigs and various hair products.
Wright and Rogers were charged alongside a third individual, Jahshsiene Green.
Green was accused of receiving specific stolen wigs valued at $2,120, which were found in her possession during a search warrant execution on April 5. She has since pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $700.
The case against Wright and Rogers is more severe due to the high value of the allegedly received goods, making it an indictable offence that must be tried in the High Court.
The upcoming committal hearing will determine if there is sufficient evidence to send the case to the higher court.
