Comfortable Victories for Richie’s Shooterz, Sledge O’s and Transport Board in ABBA Business League

The Cool & Smooth ABBA Business Basketball League 2024 saw another triumphant night of action on Monday with wins for Richie’s Shooterz, Sledge O’s and the defending Champions Antigua & Barbuda Transport Board.

In the headline game, Richie’s Shooterz outgunned Lava Smoke Shop 75-60. They demonstrated impressive depth, with four players scoring in double figures. Ariel Quallis led the balanced attack with 15 points and 5 assists, while Tavarus Benta contributed an all-around performance of 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kwame Brathwaite (11 points, 7 rebounds) and Nickon McGregor (11 points, 8 assists) rounded out the strong team effort.

Despite the loss, Lava Smoke Shop’s Lincoln Weekes put on a scoring clinic with a game-high 32 points. Michael Barton also had a noteworthy double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds in the losing effort.

The second matchup saw Sledge O’s dominate Christos Supermarket United 72-44. Kareem Edwards was the standout performer for Sledge O’s, nearly notching a triple-double with 29 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 steals. Coy Quinland chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds to support the winning cause. Christos Supermarket United struggled offensively, with Dajion George and Neville Chambers leading the team with just 9 and 8 points respectively.

In the final game of the night, ABTB edged out Antigua Power Company in a closely contested 63-53 victory. Devorn Benjamin was the driving force for ABTB, pouring in 30 points, while Ndegwa Malone added 10 points. Antigua Power Company showed a more balanced scoring approach, led by Sergio Symister’s 14 points and 6 rebounds, and Akeem Davis’s all-around contribution of 12 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, and 4 steals. Ezkiel Francois also contributed 15 points in the losing effort.
