Patients at the Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital were beaming with joy after receiving another donation from the Jumby Bay Homeowners Association.

Yesterday morning, members of the Jumby Bay Fund held a handing-over ceremony with hospital staff and patients in attendance.

Speaking on behalf of the association, Michael Reid said the Fund is proud of its long-standing association with Clarevue.

“We are very pleased to be here to present the third Clarevue wish list. We appreciate the hard work of the Clarevue staff and the OT room [occupational therapy] volunteers,” he said.

“The Jumby Bay Fund is delighted with its long association with Clarevue and how the OT room has developed over the past six years.”

Among the list of items donated by the Fund were a home theater video projector, an electric foot spa, arts and craft items, games, beauty supplies, bath towels, bed sheets and pillows.

Reid added that other donations including two flat screen television sets, eight ceiling fans and some plants will be delivered to the hospital.

The items donated by the Fund had a monetary value of more than EC $50,000.

According to its website, the Jumby Bay Fund was established in April 2014 and has supported a wide array of charitable projects in Antigua.

This is the third straight year that the Fund has donated items that had been on Clarevue’s wish list.
