Clare Hall Secondary record big win in Schools’ cricket

Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS) recorded the largest win of the day in the ongoing Inter-school Cricket competition.

Playing at the King George V grounds on Tuesday afternoon, CHSS won their match versus Sir Novelle Richards Academy (SNRA) by 176 runs.

Opting to bat first, the victors surged to 205-2 in 13 overs.

The partnership of Malique Walsh and D Yaw was too much for Sir Novelle to bear as the duo went for a combined 167 runs with Walsh making 129 with 16 fours and sixes, while Yaw had 38 consisting of three fours.

The opening pair would however see both of their wickets fall in the 12th over by S Harris.

In reply, SNRA were all out for 29 runs.

Powerhouses, Antigua Grammar School (AGS) were also victorious that day, defeating Jennings Secondary School (JSS) by nine wickets.

Batting first, JSS made 63 runs. Bassonia Joseph was the leading batsman for JSS, making 32 runs.

AGS’ Xavin Peterson took six wickets.

The Semper Virens comfortably met the target of 64, losing only one wicket.

Shamar Pereira was not out for 29 while teammate, Jewel Andrew was not out for 20.

In the other match played that day, Glanvilles Secondary School (GSS) won by eight wickets over Pares Secondary School (PSS).
