Apostle Dr Stephen Andrews shared with his congregation what he called a “miraculous escape”, after a burglar’s gun allegedly malfunctioned three separate times during a pre-dawn break-in at the St John’s Pentecostal House of Restoration Ministries hours before the Sunday morning service.

Andrews discovered intruders on the church compound around 3:30am after finding a broken-into office.

Security footage shown to the congregation captured Andrews investigating the scene and making phone calls before the confrontation occurs.

Andrews narrated as he showed the congregation the sequence of events, including him “making some calls” before the confrontation.

The video then shows Andrews retreating as an armed suspect takes aim at him near his vehicle, documenting the moments when the weapon repeatedly failed to discharge despite multiple attempts by the burglar to fire.

“Then they pulled the gun at me. So I start running back,” Andrews told his congregation while showing them the security footage.

A second perpetrator was also visible in the security recording.

The suspects made their getaway in the pastor’s vehicle.

The incident is the second break-in at the church in less than a week, following a Wednesday morning burglary where cash and electronic equipment were stolen.
