There has been a noticeable increase in the number cases of child poisoning being brought to the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre.
That is according to the hospital’s Marketing and Communications Head, Salma Crump.
Our newsroom reached out to her after her department contacted OBSERVER Radio to put together a public service announcement on the issue.
This morning (Saturday) she said the increase frequency of cases was of concern to the doctors at the hospital.
Crump is also warning parents and caregivers that it is always best to seek medical attention if a child accidentally ingests a harmful substance.
She says inducing vomiting at home, while some think it wise, could result in more harm done to the child.
